Earlier this year PARMA Recordings held a Call For Live Streams – a no-cost opportunity for artists to submit a live stream for airing on the PARMA Live Stage. With a great response, PARMA is happy to announce that many of these performances have been added to the 2021 PARMA Live Stage lineup including:
The PARMA Live Stage is a digital music venue created in March 2020 to help artists to continue to present their live-streamed performances when visiting a music venue in person was not possible. With over 50 streamed events last year, the venue and its accompanying marketing program helped bring music to thousands of viewers as well as raise money for various charitable causes.

Event Highlights
Cambridge Symphony Orchestra Presents: Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty
The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra (CSO), a community orchestra based in Cambridge MA dedicated to bringing high-quality classical music to audiences at an affordable price, streams a production of Tchaikovsky’s ballet Sleeping Beauty. The production, which is free online to all, features CSO musicians as well as professional ballet dancers affiliated with City Ballet of Boston, a nonprofit that presents exciting and creative dance performances to Boston’s diverse community. The dance components will be filmed inside the Fairmont Copley Plaza Grand Ballroom, and will visually portray an abridged version of the Sleeping Beauty story.
Tanguango Quinteto Presents: ¡Gracias, Astor!
In honor of the 100th anniversary of Astor Piazzolla’s birth, the PARMA Music Festival is pleased to present ¡Gracias, Astor! by Tanguango Quinteto, whose performance is dedicated to the tango nuevo movement. The concert features compositions by Piazzolla, the father of tango nuevo, and works composed with his influence, including selections by Serbian artists and Argentinian traditional tango songs in “nuevo” arrangements.
Eight Strings & a Whistle Present: PopUP+!
Eight Strings & a Whistle’s PopUP+! concerts are short, casual, free concerts. Before the Pandemic, these concerts would take place in casual venues, such as rehearsal studios, in New York City, where the ensemble would present a few pieces that the trio is developing and get audience feedback. For 2021, Eight Strings & a Whistle have expanded their audience by taking this series online, using the YouTube chat function to interact with the audience.
New Music On The Bayou 2021 Summer Festival
Live from the Biedenham Museum and Gardens in Monroe LA, the closing night concert from the three-day New Music on the Bayou Summer Festival brings us contemporary chamber music by composers from around the United States and abroad.
The Boston New Music Initiative Presents: Living Music Summit
The Boston New Music Initiative is thrilled to announce its inaugural Living Music Summit! The summit is a series of concerts, workshops, industry roundtables, and networking events designed to promote all aspects of BNMI’s central mission of supporting and advancing the careers of its members in the field of new music. Starting with a series of virtual events and culminating with a weekend of events from June 18-20, 2021, the Living Music Summit aims to make a measurable and lasting impact on both the regional and international new music communities.
