Congratulations to Ravello Records artist James O’Callaghan and Ensemble Paramirabo on their nomination in the 2020 JUNO Awards! O’Callaghan’s 2019 album release, ALONE & UNALONE, is up for “Classical Album of the Year: Solo or Chamber.”
Originally founded to “raise the public profile and recognition of musical artists in Canada,” the JUNO Awards are a weeklong multi-city festival and awards ceremony that bring established and emerging musical talent together in one celebration. The 2020 nominations are not O’Callaghan’s first JUNO appearance — he was nominated in the “Classical Composition of the Year” category in 2014, as the youngest person to ever receive a nomination in that category.
ALONE & UNALONE was released on Ravello Records in October 2019. The album garnered him praise from the press, including being called “one of the most original voices in…contemporary music” (Voir). Take a more in-depth look at his musical style, inspirations, and ALONE & UNALONE album in his Inside Story interview.
The 2020 JUNO Awards ceremony takes place on March 15. For more information, visit https://junoawards.ca/events/the-2020-juno-awards/.
