Svjetlana Bukvich is a composer, performer, and multimedia artist, who first came to the United States to pursue graduate studies, and was awarded one of the first MFA degrees in multimedia in the US. She has been recognized as one of the 25 outstanding women composers in America whose “processes can be viewed as alternatives to convention, for they expand accepted definition of composition and venue …“ Her latest Navona Records release, EXTENSION, brings together a variety of Svjetlana’s influences, creating an entirely original album that offers a sense of hope and comfort during a trying period in history.
