The PARMA web team is hard at work in their efforts to construct custom websites for modern classical composers and performers in support of their musical endeavors, and we’re pleased to share some recently-launched examples that showcase what a well-built website can do to amplify one’s artistry.
Live performance calendars, fully interactive score stores, intuitive musical libraries, instances of news and press, streamlined navigation, and visually appealing aesthetics. Our latest website designs for PARMA artists tick these boxes and more.
“Every artist is unique and their website should serve as a representation of their art form. The design, organization of content, and development are done with the artist in mind for a custom solution built to suit their specific needs.”
– Kayla Day, PARMA Web Director
Wanchi Huang, Violinist
Visitors of Wanchi Huang’s new artist website are greeted with an intuitive menu linking to several different aspects of the violinist’s artistry — from updates on her live performance schedule to a library of her published recordings and more.
Huang, a violin professor at James Madison University since 1998, has taught at the Heifetz International Music Institute since 2023 and served as concertmaster of the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra since 2014. Praised for her recordings, she is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician.
Her latest release with Navona Records, IMAGINING WORLDS, is a dynamic voyage through the elegant grandeur of the baroque era to the historic hilltops of Italy, passing through reflections on our darkest moments and soaring towards the brighter days that lie ahead.
Daniel Powers, Composer
For a composer with a wide breadth of music spanning multiple instrumentations and styles, having everything in one place and easy to find can make all of the difference. Daniel Powers’ new artist website is well-supported in this effort, with a full library of compositions and arrangements where visitors can browse by genre and instrumentation.
Powers has fulfilled commissions from the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Louisville Saxophone Quartet, Galan Trio, and other groups and individuals. He has also written arrangements and orchestrations for everything from internationally renowned soloists to intermediate level student groups.
His varied career has also included writing program notes for several orchestras and working as a copyist and engraver for other composers and publishers.
Marilyn Bliss, Composer
Effusing a cool, inviting tone with soft blue and pink pastels, Marilyn Bliss’ new artist website houses scores, recordings, and videos of her classical compositions, from orchestral works to chamber and vocal music.
Currently serving as President of New York Women Composers, Bliss is an artist that weaves together beauty and depth, blending global influences with intricate craftsmanship to create captivating and evocative works.
Douglas Anderson, Composer
Vibrant hues of red, blue, and yellow sprawl across the page on Douglas Anderson’s artist website, indicative of the colors prominently featured in albums on his Ravello Records catalog, including the 2023 release WHAT SHE SAW and the upcoming album MUSIC IN DIVERSE STYLES.
Anderson’s site goes on to showcase recordings and scores of his music, recent news and reviews, upcoming performance information, and more.
A composer, conductor, educator, and producer, Anderson has been active in the New York area for 45 years. His music has been heard around the world for decades, notably on Voice of America radio abroad, and nationally in radio dramas broadcast on NPR.
Joseph Summer, Composer
Composer Joseph Summer’s artist website has received some new updates following its release in the summer 2022, namely the inclusion of his prolific Shakespeare Concerts series.
The Shakespeare Concerts presents recitals of music inspired by the immortal bard, from original English text settings to settings in translation by composers from the classical period to the 21st century.
This now appears alongside his full catalog of works, complete with recordings, a custom sheet music store, and more.
Dan Brown and Wild Symphony
The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown, in collaboration with the PARMA web team, has unveiled several new avenues for a variety of ensembles to perform his classical production, Wild Symphony, through an updated score store on wildsymphony.com.
The site offers access to a full concert kit, performance portal, resources for educators, and broadened selection of new orchestrations — from wind symphony to string quartet, solo piano, and more.
