After performances across the world in countries such as Spain, Germany, Japan, Czech Republic, Croatia, and many more, New York Times Best-Selling Author Dan Brown’s Wild Symphony is finally coming home for a string of performances narrated by Brown himself for Spring 2022.
Wild Symphony’s Spring tour will kick off with a hometown premiere on April 2, 2022 at the Portsmouth Music Hall with a performance by the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra. Presented by Brown as a benefit concert for the orchestra and The Music Hall, proceeds from ticket sales will go to both of the 501(c)3 non-profit arts organizations from the author’s hometown.
The music is just one aspect of this multifaceted project, whose soundtrack was originally produced for release by PARMA Recordings with the Zagreb Festival Orchestra. Wild Symphony fuses family-friendly sounds, pithy poetry with a positive message, and delightfully playful illustrations in a refreshingly real experience for our digital age. Paired with a children’s book of the same name published internationally through the Rodale Kids imprint at Penguin Random House, Wild Symphony is an immersive feast for eyes, ears, and mind, all at the same time.
Wild Symphony is a very wild symphony indeed. Brown’s first work for orchestra features twenty-one musical portraits drawn from the animal kingdom. Through the joyous rhythms of “Bouncing Kangaroo,” the mysterious melodies of “Wondrous Whale,” and the hair-raising harmonies of “Brilliant Bat,” this symphony tells the story of Maestro Mouse and his animal friends embarking on a journey of discovery and friendship.
“My hope for Wild Symphony is to provide a fun, fresh opportunity for families, parents, children, and people of all ages to reconnect with the magical experience of classical music both in the concert hall and in the home,” Brown says. “I hope audiences have as much fun listening as I had composing.”
