Conductor and PARMA Recordings Project Director Miran Vaupotić has been appointed to the position of Chief Conductor of the South Czech Philharmonic.
Acclaimed as “dynamic and knowledgeable” by the Buenos Aires Herald, the Croatia-based Vaupotić will lead the South Czech Philharmonic in performance and assume creative leadership of the ensemble.
As one of the Czech Republic’s only state orchestras, the České Budějovice-based South Czech Philharmonic’s mission is centered on presenting inspired performances of classical masterworks from the repertoire and contemporary music by living artists alike.
Vaupotić, who has conducted ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Festival Orchestra, St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, Budapest Symphony Orchestra MÁV, Cairo Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Argentina, and more, is poised to continue this tradition.
With PARMA, the Khachaturian Award-winning Vaupotić has been instrumental in the successful production of numerous projects including “Wild Symphony” (by #1 New York Times bestselling author Dan Brown) and the Piazzolla Music Competition (in collaboration with the Piazzolla Music Foundation) among many others.
Vaupotić will conduct the Czech premiere of “Wild Symphony” on July 31, 2021 with the South Czech Philharmonic at the International Music Festival Český Krumlov. For more information please visit www.ticketportal.cz/event/DAN-BROWN-Wild-Symphony.
