On GREAT SOUTHERN LAND, Phillip Chase Hawkins’ debut album, a unique symbiosis exists between the trumpeter and renowned composer Brendan Collins. The result of their cross-continental collaboration showcases Hawkins’ virtuosity in both duo and trio settings.

THE JOHN PSATHAS PERCUSSION PROJECT VOL. 1 is percussionist Omar Carmenates’ recorded interpretation of the work of the Greek New Zealand composer John Psathas and is his first release on Navona Records. The album is the result of an expansive, multi-year collaboration with a mission to reimagine works from Psathas’ compositional oeuvre entirely for percussion instruments.

WHEN THE SOUL SPEAKS paradoxically presents music of ancient texts through some of the present day’s youngest voices. Performed by the Bonifantes Boys’ Choir and the Czech Soloist Consort, these sacred texts rise to life through the performances of one of the Czech Republic’s most acclaimed ensembles.

With PIECES OF MIND AND MATTER, South-Dakota-based music professor and composer Paul Lombardi has taken it upon himself to render this intricate relation audible and accessible to audiences – all while chronicling his personal musical journey.

With electroacoustic compositions recorded on top of melting glaciers, Matthew Burtner’s GLACIER MUSIC makes the issue unavoidable: while we converse and debate over climate change, iconic pieces of natural history are slipping away.
